Water Issues
Water in the Drilling Operation
Water issues present a big challenge in drilling for natural gas. Water is an integral part of the drilling process. It is used in great quantities (in combination with lubricating chemicals and other materials) to allow the drill to travel through the dirt and rock to reach the gas deep below the surface of the earth. Water occurring within the earth is released during the drilling process. In all, hundreds of thousands of gallons of waste fluids could be generated from a gas well.
Throughout the process, there must be a proper disposition of these fluids. Two of the most common methods used to get rid of this fluid are evaporation and injection. To evaporate the fluids, the water is sprayed into the air in order to facilitate quicker evaporation. In other cases, water is injected deep within the earth in underground caverns in states willing to take the contaminated water.
212 Resources solves the water management challenge by offering the option of creating clean, distilled, pure, useable water from this liquid.
